Why apply for PAK NADRA ID Card?
Pakistani Identity Card or Pakistani Identity Card for Overseas Pakistani [NICOP] is issued by the Pakistani authorities – NADRA. The Pakistani citizens are given CNIC number as their citizenship number on this card. The Pakistani citizens are supposed to show this upon entering or exiting the county.

This means that you can open a bank account in Pakistan, buy or sell property in Pakistan, apply for (MPR) Machine Readable Passport – Pakistani, and easily benefit from many other services in Pakistan such as from renting a property, to getting a sim-card.
In addition to the above-mentioned benefits, an advantage of NICOP is that you get visa free entry into Pakistan on foreign passport.
Difference between Pak NICOP and pak shanakhti card:
There are two types of Pak ID cards, a NICOP and Shanakhti card. Pakistani NICOP stands of National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis. It is issued to Pakistani citizens residing abroad. Pakistani residing overseas with a second nationality can use their PAK NICOP ID card when travelling to Pakistan – they will not need a Pakistani visa to travel to Pakistan.
On the other hand, a Pakistani Shanakhti card is issued to Pakistani residents residing in Pakistan. Please ensure that if you are living outside Pakistan, you will not be able to use your Pakistani Shnakhti card as a replacement for Pak Visa [when travelling on a foreign passport]. You will need to either apply for a Pakistani visa or replace your ordinary Shnakhti card with a NICOP.

Am I eligible for PAK NADRA ID Card?
Applicants with either parent is of a Pakistani origin is eligible for Pak Nadra ID card. Those applicants can make their first Pak ID card by using their parents’ NADRA card. Those applicants that are not Pakistani origin, they may be eligible for POC card (Pakistani Origin Card) if they are spouse to a Pakistnai national.
List of dual Nationalities with Pakistan;
To ensure that you are eligible to apply for Pak ID card / NICOP, you must ensure that your foreign passport is for one of the following courtiers. If the country of your nationality does not exist in the list below; you must consider applying for POC instead as Pakistani authorities only has dual nationality agreement with following countries;
Australia, Belgium, Canada, Egypt, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Joran, Netherland (Holland), New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, United Kingdom, United States, Bahrain, Finland, Denmark, Germany.
When can I apply for NADRA ID CARD?
You do not have to turn 18 to apply for your first Pak Nadra ID card. You can make your application for your Pak Nadra ID card right by birth, as soon as the applicant gets his/her birth certificate.
